Course Description

This 20-hour professional development course in Budapest offers an in-depth exploration of inclusive education with a focus on children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly visual impairments. Participants will gain insights into the Hungarian education system, inclusive teaching strategies, early intervention frameworks, and cross-sector collaboration. Through expert-led workshops, interactive discussions, and a site visit to the Institute of the Blind, participants will engage with evidence-based practices and European best-case examples. The course aims to strengthen educators’ and specialists’ capacity to foster inclusive learning environments and effectively support the diverse needs of all learners.

Target Group

Educators, SEN specialists, school leaders, support staff, and educational policy professionals interested in inclusive and special needs education.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will:

  • Understand the structure and approach of the Hungarian education system, especially regarding SEN and visual impairment.

  • Identify inclusive education principles and apply them in diverse educational settings.

  • Gain familiarity with tools, techniques, and teaching strategies for supporting children with visual and other impairments.

  • Explore effective early intervention models and interdisciplinary collaboration.

*The language of the course is English, linguistic aid may be provided for speakers of Hungarian with lower language abilities.

Conditions

The course complies with all rules as set in the Quality Standards of the Erasmus+ program. Extracurricular activities are in addition to the lessons, and study groups are international. Note: should the latter condition not be met, participants will be informed 40 days in advance.

Payment facilities: participants with funding from the actual year’s project budget may ask to request a deposit of EUR 100 to guarantee their places on the course and pay the rest of the fees later.

It is possible to take part in 2 consecutive courses, please book both separately. A price reduction of 15% will be applied.
